A “porch pirate” opossum has been captured on video in Texas stealing a 15-year-old’s box of birthday cookies from the front door of his family’s home.

“Just like humans, there are probably a lot of cool opossums, but this story features an opossum who decided to break the law in his own way. That bothers us. Get it? Because opossums normally eat ticks, not cookies,” officials said at Southlake joked.
They are now urging locals to “Do everything you can to protect your home from thieves today in Southlake and beyond!”
